Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not doing enough for the farmers, poor and tribals in the last five years.

"Prime Minister promised you many things. He said that you (farmers) will get better prices for your production, he also assured that the government will set up a food processing plant. Did you get it? He made fake promises," Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a rally here.

Further sharpening his attack on the Prime Minister, the Gandhi scion said, " What he (PM Modi) did to people was anyway (injustice), but we (Congress) will do NYAY with the people."

While raking up the topic of Rafale fighter jets deal, he stated, "When Prime Minister went to France, the French prime minister told him to buy 36 jets instead of 136 for Rs 16,000 crore. But he told the French PM to sideline the government companies and give the contract to thief Anil Ambani."

"Anil Ambani has to return Rs 45,000 crore to the banks but if our farmers fail to pay Rs 20,000 they are put behind bars. Congress party has decided that if voted to power, we will amend a law where no farmers will be put behind bars if they failed to repay their loans," he added.

The Congress president also promised that if his party will emerge victorious in 2019 Lok Sabha, they will introduce a special budget for the farmers.

"We spoke to the farmers and have decided that if Congress is voted to power, then along with national budget we will introduce a special Kisan budget to help the farmers. In this budget, farmers will know about the compensation and MSP they will be receiving in a year, locations where food processing workshops will be installed," he said.

Gandhi further alleged that from the past five years, PM Modi has been running the government only for a few industrialists. He also criticised PM Modi for not fulfilling the promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh in every individual's bank account. "BJP has done injustice in last five years, now Congress will do justice in next five."

He also promised that tribals and youths who want to start their own venture will not require any regulatory permissions for three years and will get easy access to banks.

"At present, there are 22 lakh posts which are vacant. If voted to power, we will give jobs to the youth. We will place 10 lakh more youths in Panchayats. I am not here to lie like PM Modi. I will only speak the truth," added Gandhi.

Rajasthan which has 25 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls in two phases - April 29, May 6. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
