PM Modi launches Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan; Amitabh Bachchan applauds this cleanliness mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the swachhata mission i.e. ‘'Swachhata Hi Seva Movement' on Saturday. During the launch, he also asked people to participate in the cleanliness mission.

PM Modi’s recently launched mission has been joined by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and industrialist Ratan Tata via a streamed live on Narendra Modi app. PM Modi has urged all Indians to take the pledge that they will also participate in the mission of cleanliness.


Modi also said that Indians in every part of the country should take Swachhata Abhiyan forward. The cleanliness mission has covered 90% now. He also added that 9 crore toilets have been constructed in the last four years. PM Modi said that credit goes to the people of India who have given their support in this movement.

Modi has also thanked the Nari shakti of India for their contribution in the mission. 

 

 

Ahead of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Modi said, ‘, “From today till October 2, let us rededicate ourselves towards fulfilling Bapu's dream of a Clean India.”

During the live chat, Amitabh Bachchan said that ‘4 years ago, you introduced the Swachh Bharat Mission & I also became a part of it as an Indian citizen. I've been associated with various cleanliness campaigns including a campaign to clean a beach here.’

 

PM Modi's mission was also to get the support from Ratan Tata as well.

 

The people with whom the PM interacted include school children, jawans, spiritual leaders, members of milk and agricultural cooperatives, media persons, local government representatives, railway employees, Self Help Groups, and 'Swachhagrahis'.
