Prime accused in Kerala's solar scam case Sunitha S Nair told the judicial commission hearing her deposition that Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's son, Chandy Oommen, is also involved in the case, reports The Indian Express.

Nair told the commission that Chandy wanted to make his son Oommen the director of a firm involved in renewable energy. And a venture, in which Chandy's son has a stake, would import solar panels from the US.

Nair said that she herself had discussed business with Chandy Oommen at the chief minister's official residence, and that he has "close links" to another woman accused in the case. Chandy Oommen, she added, had toured abroad with that woman and Congress minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had photos of the two of them taken on those trips. She also said that her co-accused Biju Radhakrishnan had used those photos to blackmail Chandy.

Oommen Chandy issued a press release stating that his son would file civil and criminal cases against Nair for making these allegations.
