Om Prakash Rawat appointed next Chief Election Commissioner; to succeed AK Joti

Om Prakash Rawat has been appointed the new Chief Election Commissioner of the country. He will take charge on Tuesday ie January 23.

Achal Kumar Joti will retire tomorrow. At present, CEC Joti has recommended the cancellation of membership of 20 of your MLAs in the last phase of his tenure, the state of Delhi is now has became a center of discussion. With this, Ashok Lavasa has been made Election Commissioner.


Rawat who will succeed Joti, has been an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre of 1977 batch.
