Muzaffarnagar: 14-year-old burns herself to death after being molested, 2 arrested
A 14-year-old girl, on 17 September, allegedly set herself ablaze at her residence in Muzaffarnagar after she was sexually harassed by two youth of the same village. The incident occurred at Lacheda village, on Friday.
The two youth, Mohan Kumar and Sonu Singh, have been arrested, SHO Amresh Singh said, adding that a case of abetting suicide and another under POCSO Act have been registered against them. According to a complaint lodged with the police, the two youth allegedly molested the victim when she had gone to the fields.Hearing her cries, the villagers rushed to help her and nabbed the two who were handed over to the police. Later, the victim committed suicide by setting herself ablaze. She died on the spot. Security has been tightened in the village.
