Mumbai: Man molests 16-year-old girl in Mumbai local train at Dadar station; commuters beat him black and blue

In another shameful case of molestation, a 32-year-old man allegedly groped a teenage girl while boarding a suburban train at Dadar station. A police official said, the man was arrested on Tuesday for molesting a 16-year-old girl at crowded station.

The victim, a resident of neighbouring Thane district, was boarding a local train for Titwala with her Friend on Monday. The accused Om Singh allegedly touched her inappropriately, police said.


The raised the alarm, after which Singh legt hurriedly by taking advantage of crowd. Reportedly, when, the victim and her friend spotted him at Mulund station and pulled him out of the train when it halted.

A Skuffle broke put among them on the platform when Singh allegedly manhandled the victim’s friend and also hit her. In no time, other commuters gathered at the spot and thrashed him. Crowd beaten up him black and blue before handing him to police.

A case was registered by the Dadar GRP. He was produced before a court Tuesday. Police sought his custody while defence lawyer R U Jha argued that the accused be remanded in judicial custody.

The court remanded him in police remand till January 18. He was booked under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
