MP Shocker: 17-year-old girl, her lover jump before running train

In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old girl ended her life along with her 19-year old boyfriend in Madhya Pradesh’s Obedullaganj area, a report said on Tuesday.

According to timesnownews.com reports, the couple committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train.


The teenagers were in a relationship and wanted to get married, police said. However, their families were not ready for their marriage. Due to this, the duo decided to take such extreme steps.

How it happened

As per police, the now-deceased teenagers were residents of Bhopal and had gone missing three days ago.

During a police investigation, it was revealed that they took a cab to Bangrasia on Friday afternoon. After reaching there, they had food at a restaurant there and later visited a temple. They also went to Bhim Betka caver, around 9 km from Obedullaganj city, police said.

After having some snacks the couple paid the fare to the cab driver and informed him that they would return home by train. In the evening, they jumped before Jan Shatabdi Express and ended their life, according to a report by The Times of India

Based on the information shared by the cab driver, police found the bodies of the teenage couple and informed the families about the incident.

The deceased girl met the boy three years ago and they became friends. Their families came to know about their affair and the girl’s family objected to it many times, but she didn’t stop talking to him, the report quoted a police officer as saying.

According to a police officer, the inquiries revealed that the families of both deceased were against their relationship and hence, they ended their lives.
