As three days are left for the Madhya Pradesh assembly election, PM Narendra Modi has up the ante for attacks, as today while addressing a rally in Vidisha, targeted the Congress for making personal jibes.

PM Narendra Modi was rallying in External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s constituency, Vidisha and held that Congress party believes in personal attack and hence, they are imbibing this culture of attacking his family, including his mother and father.

PM Modi said, while rallying in Vidisha that “We never make any personal attacks on anyone's family. We criticized the post they held. But why are Congress leaders making personal attacks on my mother and father.”

Modi added that “kya kaaran hai ki aaj mere pita ji ko bhi ghasit ke le aaye, jo 30 saal pehle duniya chod ke chale gaye hain. Aur Congress ke naamdaar kehte hain ki Modi Ji bhi to mere parivar ke liye bolte hain.”

Earlier, Congress leader Raj Babbar had commented on PM Modi’s mother saying “unke shabdon ke baarein mein bata raha hun; Pradhan mantri mahoday, apne toh izzat se naam nahi liya, humare sanskar yeh nahi kehte. Hum toh yeh kehna chahenge ki rupaya aapki pujaniye mata ji ki umr ke kareeb neeche girna shuru ho gaya hai aaj kal.”

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra had reaacted to it, saying “The Congress' attitude against the prime minister's mother has been improper since the beginning. Rahul Gandhi should apologise and clarify whether he endorses such controversial statements.”

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also condemned the statement and said, “We strongly condemn his statement in which he dragged PM Modi's mother. It shows your mansik ghatiyapan (mental bankruptcy). The Congress is stooping so low because it is losing one state after the other. One should maintain dignity in politics. He should immediately apologise.”
