Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that, 'an honest politician suffers the most and that he has experienced it all'.

Gandhi is on a three-day tour to Gujarat ahead of the Assembly polls due later this year.

While addressing a gathering of the business committee in Rajkot, Rahul said, "Most difficult job in India is to be an honest politician. An honest politician suffers the most, I have experienced it".

Congress vice president also targeted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for no proper planning in implementing Goods and Services Tax (GST).

"There was 'no planning' in implementation of Goods & Services Tax. Dr Manmohan Singh immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of demonetization had said, 'It is a criminal act'".

Further giving confidence to the crowd, Rahul Gandhi said that if Congress comes to power in Gujarat; upliftment of farmers and weaker sections will be an important factor.

"If the Congress Party forms the government in the upcoming polls in Gujarat, it will work for the interest of farmers, workers, and weaker sections of the society. Modi ji's Gujarat model has failed. We need old Gujarat model of Amul, which aims for development of all".

"We take note of each and everyone's issues clearly and accordingly we make policies. It's all about listening to the public but the saffron party never pays attention to the common man because they believe that they know everything already. They focus on marketing and making speeches but no productive work is seen in return".
