West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unveiled the state government logo, on 5 December.

The logo highlights the 'Biswa Bangla' theme with Ashoka Pillars and was sent to the Centre for approval in May, last year.

On January 3, the Centre approved the logo that has been designed and conceptualised by Mamata Banerjee herself.

Recently, the Biswa Bangla logo was dragged in a huge controversy after former Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy, who has recently joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the logo was registered in the name of the chief minister's nephew and party MP Abhishek Banerjee.

However, West Bengal Home Secretary Atri Bhattacharya and MSME Secretary Rajiva Sinha issued statements refuting all such allegations.
