Major Gogoi Case: Army orders disciplinary action against Major Leetul Gogoi who was found in Srinagar hotel with woman
The Indian Army has taken disciplinary action against Major Leetul Gogoi, who was briefly detained by J&K Police after altercation when entering a hotel in Srinagar with a young Kashmiri woman in the month of may.
After the some days of incident, Army chief General Bipin Rawat had promised serious punishment for Gogoi if the major was found to be in violation of the service's rules.
Army chief General Bipin Rawat cited that "If any officer of the Indian Army is found guilty of any offence, we will take strictest possible action."

On May 23, Major Gogoi, along with a local Kashmir woman and one Sameer Ahmed, who was also in the Army, were questioned at a police station in Srinagar following an altercation at the Hotel Grand Mamta after the staff refused to let the woman in.
Court of Inquiry in respect to Major Leetul Gogoi has ordered to initiate disciplinary action. Court of inquiry has held him accountable for:
