In yet another instance of VIP arrogance, a Maharashtra lawmaker has been caught on camera grabbing a bureaucrat by his collar, and slapping him at a meeting that was convened by the Deputy Collector, to discuss disputes related to the purchase of farm land by the government.

Suresh Lad, a Maharashtra legislator from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was attending a meeting meeting called by Abhay Kalgudkar. A fight broke out on the question of the amount of compensation that is to be given to farmers for the acquisition of the land concerned.

Lad was in the company of several farmers who were seeking compensation for their land being acquired.

The video depicts Lad grabbing Kalgudkar's collar as the argument heated up, and then he goes on to slap the Deputy Collector as well.

No complaint has been filed against him.

The video of this incident has gone viral, and comes after an Odisha minister was seen allowing his security personnel to strap his shoes in public on 15 August.
