Kolkata: BJP's Roopa Ganguly attacked in South 24 Parganas

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, Roopa Ganguly was reportedly attacked by goons on 22 May evening. She was returning from Ishwaripur village of Kakdwip district. It has been alleged that the goons had the backing of the TMC party.

According to a report in newsx, Roopa Ganguly had gone to Ishwaripur to pay a visit to the injured BJP workers who were attacked by TMC workers on Saturday.

She was in a car, when a group of unidentified people blocked her way, vandalised the car and manhandled her, newsx reported. The injured were admitted to Diamond Harbour Hostipal. The BJP leader has reportedly sustained minor head injuries.

However, no arrests have been made.
