Killer potholes: Probe ordered into tragic death of Bandra biker

Following the death of a Bandra biker in Maharshtra's Palghar district due to potholes, Minister of Public Works Chandrakant Bacchu Patil assured that the state government has ordered an enquiry on the issue.

Chandrakant said, "All roads do not come under PWD. The Government has ordered an enquiry, taking note of all incidents"

He further informed that the road repair can take place only after the Monsoon season.

Meanwhile, the Congress strongly condemned the incident and demanded an investigation against the concerned authorities.

Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil told ANI, "It's an extremely unfortunate incident. We would be demanding Section-302 filed against the concerned officers for such grave negligence, which has become the cause of innocent deaths."

Patil said that the incident reflected the amount of corruption existing in the system.

"This shows the amount of corruption existing in the system. This needs to be fixed", he said.

On Sunday, a 36-year-old biker from Mumbai's Bandra was killed on a pothole-ridden road from Dahanu to Jawahar Road in the state.

Jagruti died on the spot due to severe injuries.

The accident took place around 9am when Jagruti along with two other women, was on a road trip to Dahanu.
