Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, who filed complaint against Bishop Franco Mulakkal in Kerala nun rape case found dead in Jalandhar. Father Kuriakose Kattuthara was a key witness in the rape case against accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal.

Father Kuriakose Kattuthara's family had filed complaint with Alappuzha police seeking inquiry into his death.


The 60-year-old father Kuriakose Kattuthara was found dead in his room in a church in Jalandhar on Monday morning. Kattuthara, was found dead at a church where he used to live, a Deputy Superintendent of Police told ANI.

The officer said he'd been informed that no injuries were found. However, the cause of death is not known yet but Father Kuriakose's family suspects something is wrong.

As per reports, he had told Mathrubhumi in an interview that he had been threatened and he "feared what would happen if he spoke out against Bishop Franco Mulakkal".

According to report in IndiaToday, father Kattuthara had vomited over the bed, and blood pressure tablets were found at the spot, the officer said, adding that no security had been provided to the priest.
