Satyanarayan Singh said, "All Left leaders from Bihar to Delhi are in favour of his candidature from Begusarai in the 2019 Lok Sabha election."

However, Singh also stated that the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and others, are also to field Kanhaiya as a joint opposition candidate from the seat. An in-principle understanding has been also discussed between all the opposition parties in the same regards.

When asked if RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav to has agreed on his name, Satyanarayan Singh said, "In principle, the RJD chief has agreed to field Kanhaiya as the joint opposition candidate from Begusarai. However, an official decision has not been taken so far."
