Jaipur eruption: Curfew imposed in parts of the city, 1 cop killed

In a recent incident in Jaipur, a police official allegedly hit a woman with a stick. Soon eruption emerged after a mob attacked Ramganj thana and set police vehicles to fire. The sources reveal that one policman has been killed and 4 have been critically injured in the incident. Several vehicles including a 108 ambulance and an electricity transformer was set on fire by the angry mob.

The tension took place after a youth was allegedly detained by the police from the Ramganj area. When the family members reached the police station, a fight took place in which a policeman hit one of the family members who was a woman with a lathi. Soon, a mob emerged near the police-station and started pelting stones at the station.

A police official said," Curfew has been imposed till further orders in Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Galta Gate and Ramganj police station areas of the city following violence in which a police station was attacked and vehicles burnt."
