J-K: IED power circuit found on Jammu airport, day after grenade attack at bus stand

A high alert has been sounded in Jammu after terrorists carried a grenade attack in the city’s bus stand on Thursday. The day after the attack, according to reports, bomb-like materials were recovered outside from the Jammu airport. The security officials said a suspicious bag was spotted at the Jammu airport in which power circuits that are being used in Improvised Explosive Device or IED were recovered.

According to initial reports, Jammu and Kashmir Police and a team of bomb disposal squad have been rushed to the site. Media reports said the bomb-shaped substance were intercepted by security officials during a security check of passengers. However, there was no report of flight disruption at the time of filing this copy.


This incident come to light a day after a blast struck Jammu’s busiest bus stand. The nature of the explosion was through a grenade bomb, which was thrown from the outside of the bus.

In the attack, the death toll has risen to 2 and injured have been treated at the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital, Jammu.

The accused Yasir Javaid Bhat alias Arhaan of Kulgam district, who carried out the attack, was arrested hours after the blast at the General Bus Stand.
