J&K: BSF constable Jitender Kumar dies in Pakistan shelling

A BSF constable, who was injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in RS Pura and Arnia sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, succumbed to his injuries on 27 October.

The deceased constable, Jitender Kumar, from Bihar, sustained a splinter injury in the attack.

Pakistani Rangers engaged in unprovoked shelling on Indian posts and civilian areas in the Arnia area of RS Pura around 9 pm on 26 October. Heavy shelling was also reported from the Ramgarh area of adjoining Samba sector.

Border resident have been asked not to venture out of their homes and take all precautionary measures. Some have been shifted to safer places.

Multiple ceasefire violations have been reported along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan, however, remains in denial about the cross-border firings.
