Indrani Mukerjea's mother passes away in Guwahati
Durga Rani Bora, mother of INX Media co-founder and former CEO Indrani Mukerjea, who is currently in jail custody for having allegedly murdered her daughter Sheena Bora, passed away in Guwahati on Thursday evening. She was 82.
According to media reports, Durga, who was bedridden and ill for the past two years, passed away at around 6 PM at their house at Sundarpur in the heart of the Assam capital. Her husband Upendra Kumar Bora too is said to be ill and bedridden.
25-year-old Sheena, was murdered on 24 April, 2012, and her body was burnt and disposed off in a forest in Raigad district the next day.
The present status of the case
The CBI has registered a case against Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamwar Pinturam Rai, charging them with abduction, murder, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence among others.
