Indian Army organises T20 cricket tournament in Rajouri

With the aim to identify talent and provide platform to the youth of the remote border areas to hone their skills, the Indian Army Romeo Force organised a T20 cricket tournament in Jammu and Kashmir's District Police Lines Ground here.

The final game, which was conducted on Wednesday, was played between Kings XI Rajouri and Poonch Royals, where the team from Poonch won the tournament's final match with Rs 50,000 prize money.

Poonch Royals defeated Kings XI Rajouri by three wickets.

Batting first after winning the toss, Kings XI Rajouri scored 149 runs which in reply Poonch Royals successfully chased the target and scored winning run on the last ball of the match.

Also, the Man of the series was awarded Rs 10,000 while the Man of the match was awarded Rs 5,000.

The District administration, Rajouri Police Officers and Army officers were present during the final match.

A total of ten teams from both the districts participated in the tournament.

The final match was witnessed by General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force, Major General Raj Sinha, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Professor Javed Mashart, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas and other dignitaries from army and civil administration of Rajouri District.
