An Indian Air Force AN 32 aircraft overruns the runway at Mumbai airport during take off on Tuesday night around 11:39 pm. The aircraft was going to IAF’s Yelahanka base in Bengaluru when the incident took place.

According to Mumbai International Airport LTD spokesperson, the aircraft hit some lights on the edge of the runway and went off to the main runaway 27 during the takeoff. While the aircraft was stuck off the runaway other flight operations were moved to the secondary runway 32.

As per the IAF, it had some technical issue that's why aircraft overrun the runway. “The aircraft and crew members are safe. A recovery team has arrived Mumbai and the aircraft will be clear shortly,” the IAF statement said.

Flights which are running on the long route might get in trouble if the aircraft didn't move for next 12-15 hours from the runway. While the AI official said, "This flight might face some problems. We might need to reduce the weight of the aircraft or add a landing en route to refuel.”

The Mumbai airport has two runways one is the main while another one is the secondary runaway which together handles almost 1,000 arrivals and departures per day.
