Hyderabad blast 2007: NIA court postponed the verdict till 7 September

An National Investigation Agency (NIA) court was scheduled to announce the verdict on Hyderabad serial bomb blast on 27 August. The court now postponed the verdict till 7 September.

After 11 years, the verdict will come. The blast had claimed 42 lives. Around 170 people were questioned in the case and four was made accused. The key accused are Aneeq Shafiq Syed, Mohammed Sadiq, Akbar Ismail Choudhary and Ansar Ahmed Badhsah Sheikh. They are allegedly  Indian Mujahideen operatives.

The blast had happened at Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park on 25 August 2007 leaving 42 dead and 50 injured.

The Counter Intelligence Wing of Telengana police had file 3 chargesheets against the accused. Reportely, some of them are on the run.

The police slapped the charges against the accused under section 302 (murder), section of Explosive Substance Act and other Indian Penal Code sections.

In October 2008, Maharashtra Anti Terror Squad arrested the alleged IM operatives and handed over them to Gujarat police. The four accused has been kept in Cherlapalli Central Prison.
