Horrifying! Husband kills pregnant wife over the silliest issue, slept beside body; surrenders himself next day

In a horrifying incident, a man allegedly strangled his pregnant wife to death over a silly issue. The accused killed her and slept beside the dead body of his wife through the night. He then alerted the police in the morning and surrendered himself. The incident took place in Maharashtra's Osmanabad district.

The accused identified as Vinod Dhansing Pawar had a heated argument with his wife Priyanka Rathod on Thursday night. Following which he strangled her to death.

"He then slept beside the body and came to the police station on Friday morning to confess to his crime and surrender," the official informed.

The officer said Vinod Pawar was a borewell commission agent while Priyanka Rathod was a nurse at Tuljapur, adding that the couple had married nine months ago and the woman was five-month pregnant, reports PTI.

Meanwhile, the woman's family told police that her accused husband used to demand money from her parents and this led to frequent quarrels, the official said. A case of murder has been registered and further probe was underway, he added.
