JuD chief Haifiz Saeed, who was on Sunday called the mastermind of the Afzal Guru event in JNU by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, released a video clarifying that he had no role in the incident. He also denied instigating any Kashmiri groups to raise pro-Pakistan slogans.

He further clarified that a tweet which was circulated on his name calling for support for JNU protests was a fake one. He hit out at Rajnath Singh saying that he shouldn't try to divert attention from the Kashmir issue by leveling allegations against him.

He also took the opportunity to take potshots at the Indian government for alleging his involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He says that all such allegations were part of "India's propaganda", that has been rejected by the Pakistani court.

On Sunday, the Home Minister said that Saeed was backing the pro-Afzal Guru and anti-India sloganeering in the JNU campus.

Later it emerged that Delhi Police's had issued an alert on the same issue on the basis of an unverified account of Saeed. On receiving flak for making a serious allegation against JNU students, BJP issued a statement saying Singh's statement was based on inputs from various agencies.
