A fire broke out at the South City Mall in Kolkata on 4 December morning.

According to media reports, the fire broke out at the food court at the mall. Five fire tenders have reached the spot to control the fire. The people, staff and employees were immediately evacuated from the mall when people noticed black smoke engulfing the food court. The local administration has stopped movement of vehicles in the vicinity of the mall to let the fire engines get access.

Security guards immediately severed electric connections and alerted people watching the movie shows in the multiplex. Fire minister Sovon Chatterjee is expected to visit the mall.

However, no casualties have been reported yet.
