EVM Drama: Syed Shuja, who claims EVMs rigging, ‘NEVER’ worked for the company that made EVMs during 2014 polls

Syed Shuja, the self-proclaimed Indian cyber expert, who claimed EVMs were hacked during 2014 Lok Sabha elections by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), was had never worked with a company that made Electronic voting machines during the 2014 General Elections. As per the fresh media reports, Shuja was never part of the team at Electronic Corporation of India (ECIL), like he claimed, the company clarified.

Interestingly, not just self-proclaimed cyber expert but also none of the teammate he mentioned were part of the engineering team that dealt with EVM manufacturing at ECIL, say reports.

"The records of this company have been verified and it is found that Syed Shuja has neither been on the rolls of ECIL as a regular employee nor was he in any way associated in the design and development of EVMs in ECIL produced between 2009 to 2014," read a statement from ECIL.

In the press conference organised in London, Shuja claimed he was part of the team at the ECIL, which designed and developed the EVMs. Shuja appeared on screen through Skype, his face was masked with a black blindfold.

Shuja claimed EVMs were rigged in the 2014 polls and the party in the lead was ‘BJP’. He also claimed that late BJP leader Gopinath Munde was killed as he knew about the EVMs rigging and he was about to expose the BJP’s doing.

Shuja mentioned few names claiming them as his team members. he names were Prakash, Keshav, Vamshi, Amjas. And none of these people or engineers with such names was employed with the team, the company further said.

In the press conference, Shuja claimed fled India in 2014 because he felt life threat in the country after he survived the attack in which his team members were killed.
