In another, live video calling suicide case, a Delhi woman allegedly committed suicide during a live WhatsApp video chat with a boyfriend. The incident reportedly took place in New Delhi's Usmanpur area, when the 21-year-old, identified as Shivani Sharma had a fight with her boyfriend and committed suicide.

The deceased, who was preparing to be a company secretary, got into a heated argument with her boyfriend. Allegedly, the situation turned to such an extent that she hanged herself from the ceiling fan using dupatta. The victim was living on the first floor of the building and her father runs a grocery shop on the ground floor.

"While Sharma was taking the extreme step during the live video chat, her friend informed her father, who ran immediately to her rescue. But by the time he reached the room, his daughter had already hung herself," said Atul Kumar Thakur, DCP northeast Delhi.

The deceased father took her to St Stephen's hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

"We have recovered a mobile phone and a dupatta from the room and sent it to the forensic lab. An FIR has been registered against the victim's friend under relevant IPC section for abetment of suicide. The matter is under investigation," Thakur added.
