Delhi: Railway Ministry was 'warned' days before the derailment at Shivaji Bridge

Ranchi Rajdhani Express got derailed near Delhi’s Shivaji Bridge on Thursday morning. But what was more shocking was that a user on Twitter had informed the Railway Ministry about a potential mishappening that might happen at the place near the platform.

A Twitter user Rakesk Kumar Kaushik had posted a picture on his Twitter handle that showed a damaged portion of tracks near the station. He had posted the picture on September 2 and tweeted to @RailMinIndia. His tweet got a reaction from the Ministry who asked Delhi Division of the Northern Railway to “look into the matter”.

The derailment of Rajdhani Express happened 200 metres away from New Delhi station. The people who were involved in the rescue operation told that a crack on the railway track could have been the reason behind the accident.

Twitterati spotted the tweet on the social media platform and since then they have been criticizing the Railways for their criminal negligence and have even asked for an action against the officials.
