The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the lawyer's plea on seeking a ban on media coverage on the tussle between Lawyers and Delhi Police in the national capital. "There will be no restriction on media reporting in Tis Hazari court case," said Supreme Court.

The court also rejected an early hearing on the petition and asked the lawyer to file an application in the high court. The lawyers reached the Supreme Court after their plea to ban media coverage of all the incidents of violence, including the incident between the lawyers and police at Tis Hazari court. However, the Delhi High Court later turned down the plea on Wednesday.

During a Delhi High Court hearing in the matter, the Bar council sought the ban on media coverage saying that the police are misusing their power and that both media and police are trying to spoil the matter. The plea also accused media of calling lawyers "Goondas" and defaming them.

The lawyers' council even said that the police were not registered their case when they reached to them. Earlier Delhi High court passed an order on 3rd November saying that on a step will be taken against the lawyers. However, it was said that it is only applicable to the two FIRs filed on 2nd November.
