A 40-year-old piano teacher has been arrested in southeast Delhi's Kalkaji area for sexually assaulting his seven-year-old student over a period of two months.
The victim, who is a resident of Govindpuri Extension, had been learning to play piano from the accused, Ravi Kumar, for the last two years, a senior police officer said.
The assault began over two months back and the girl was bearing it silently till yesterday when she confided in her father about the incident, who filed a case against Mr Kumar, added the officer.
The girl told her father that she didn't want to go to the piano class but he couldn't understand the reason for her refusal, police said.
A case under section 376 IPC (rape) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act was registered and the accused was arrested from his Kalkaji home, police said.
Mr Kumar is married and used to teach many other children as well, police said.
