Delhi chief secretary, who had accused Aam Aadmi Party’s convenor Arvind Kejriwal of assault in February this year, has been transferred to the Department of Telecommunication on Saturday.

Anshu Prakash had claimed that AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal had hit him, as soon as he was asked to sit and he also claimed that his spectacles feel on the ground.

The aftermath of this incident led to a complete blockade by the Delhi administration and the government officers, who had boycotted the meetings and function of the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government.

Prakash is a 1986 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, who had also served as additional secretary and financial advisor in rurla development ministry.

The logjam had ended when the Delhi’s IAS officers had assured the government that they would now attend the meetings and sign the files accordingly. Delhi police had filed a chargesheet in the case in Delhi High Court, accusing Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and other AAP leaders of “assault.”

The AAP had called the charge sheet as a political vendetta by the BJP and said that the charges and the whole case is bogus and that the Centre has launched a witchhunt against the AAP leaders, who are bound to defeat the BJP in the upcoming polls.

According to sources, “additional chief secretary Manoj Parida, who is also the Home department secretary, will take over from Prakash in the interim. Delhi government officials said they had no prior information about the decision to transfer Prakash, and learnt about it only when the notification was made public”, as reported by The Indian Express.
