Anti-CAA Protests: Schools closed in Ghaziabad, Latest Updates

Massive protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act are being reported from across the nation where protesters have clashed with police. Here are the latest updates:

 

District Magistrate of Ghaziabad: Internet services to remain suspended till 10 am tomorrow.

Schools closed in Ghaziabad:

All the schools in Ghaziabad will be remain closed due to the protest against CAA, reported ANI.

"All schools to stay closed, "  said the District Magistrate, as per ANI.

Internet Services suspended:

The Internet services in Ghaziabad has been suspended till 10 am tomorrow. 


Updates: 

Six people were killed in Uttar Pradesh during protests against Citizenship Amendment Act on Friday, officials said. The state police chief confirmed five deaths.

Director-General of Police O P Singh told PTI that two people lost their lives in Bijnor and one each in Meerut, Sambhal, and Firozabad. But officials reported death in Kanpur as well.

The cause of death would be known after a post-mortem, they said.

In the state-wide protests, there were reports of firing on police parties at various places, officials said.

Police retaliated with teargas shells followed by rubber bullets, they said.

Singh said over 50 policemen seriously injured during the protests.
