In what can be termed as a major setback for the Delhi government, the Centre on 24 June returned 14 bills of the Aam Aadmi Party government pending with the centre for approval since the last several months.

The 14 bills included the crucial Lokpal Bill that was passed by the Delhi government without the consent on the Lieutenant Governor.

According to various media reports, the Centre claimed that proper procedure was not followed.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to express his disappointment over the bills being sent back being by the Centre. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no intent of passing the bills and thorough procedure was followed before sending them for approvals. He also said that PM Modi interferes in every other thing.

In a series of tweets, Kejriwal launched a blistering attack on Modi saying that the Prime Minister will neither work on his own nor will he let anyone else work.

The bills included MLA Salary Amendment, CrPC Amendment and Delhi School Education (Amendment).
