Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, the politics of holding rallies and Rath Yatras are taking plunge in Bengal as the spar between BJP and TMC has now surfaced in full swing.

Today, the Mamata Banerjee government has denied the permission to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s helicopter to land in Bengal for a rally due to technical grounds and Yogi Adityanath’s office has said that “th epermission was withheld without prior notice.”

Mritunjay Kumar, the Information Advisor to CM Yogi Adityanath has said, “This is the result of the popularity of the UP chief minister that Mamata Banerjee did not even allow his helicopter to land.”

Yogi, while addressing the rally via telephone stated targeted Bengal CM Mamaa Banerjee and said, “Mamata Ji must accept that you don’t misuse admn. in a democracy, the way it's being done in West Bengal. The way Bengal’s admn is functioning as the workers of TMC, should not be acceptable at all.”

Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh, who was present while the BJP workers were protesting outside the DM’s residence said, “We are yet to get permission to land the chopper. So our party workers are staging a protest rally outside the DM's residence demanding permission to land the chopper.”

Earlier, Mamata’s administration had denied permission to BJP president Amit Shah’s chopper to land and even had taken the BJP to courts, while they demanded to hold Rath Yatras across the state; although the BJP lost the battle in Supreme Court and Calcutta High Court.
