Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama over the detention of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, UP Minister Azam Khan has said that it is PM Modi and his 'friend' Obama, who are not allowing Muslims to live a peaceful life.

"Modi is not permitting us to lead a peaceful life here and in America, PM's friend Barack Obama would not allow us to live," Khan reportedly said.

"We (Muslims) are a disturbed lot and don't know where to go," he added.

The SP leader used the lyrics of a popular Hindi movie song 'samjhega kaun yaha, dard bhare dil ki zuban/Jaye toh jaye kahan' to drive his point home.

Commenting on the attack on BJP leader Brijpal Teotia in Ghaziabad, the Samajwadi Party said the law and order in the state was on the right track and the police administration was taking prompt action against criminals.

"If crimes are committed, prompt action is taken and criminals are put behind the bars. The law and order condition in the state was on the right track," the Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister said.

When asked about the BSP legislators joining BJP, he said, "Many politicians see more opportunities to mint money in the ruling BJP."
