At least 15 Pakistani rangers killed in retaliatory firing across International Border

At least 15 Pakistani rangers were gunned down in retaliatory firing by the Indian forces along the International Border on 28 October, the Border Security Forces (BSF) said.

As per an initial BSF assessment, two Pakistani Frontier Force soldiers and 13 Rangers were killed, reported NDTV.

Pakistani troops violated ceasefire on 28 October, with firing and mortar shelling on Indian posts and civilian areas along the LoC and international border in Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri districts.

The BSF and Army responded "appropriately and befittingly" a defence spokesman said.

The BSF has also alleged that Pakistani forces are pushing militants across the border, as two more infiltration bids were foiled on Thursday.

"Yesterday, then again today morning ceasefire violations are happening from Pakistan side. Indian side also responding befittingly. Heavy calibre weapons are being used by Pak. We are hitting them hard though," Defence PRO Manish Mehta was quoted to have said in a DNA report.

At least 6 civilians were injured on 27 October as Pakistan continued to violate ceasefire in the RS Pura sector of Jammu district by resorting to small arms fire and mortar shelling.

This happened within days of Pakistan rangers violated ceasefire along the International Border (IB) in the RS Pura sector killing a BSF Jawans and injuring several other civilians.

At least 11 civilians were injured and several houses were damaged during the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in RS Pura sector early this week.
