The controversial betting scandal that related two of the favourite entertainment sections- IPL and Bollywood, landing under the name of Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz Khan in the scandal has been making round. Ever since the scandal came into the limelight a name that was repeatedly mentioned in the IPL Betting scandal other than Mr Khan was, Sonu Jalan. 41-year-old Sonu Yogendra Jalan is recently the biggest name popped out in IPL betting scam who a direct link with Don Dawood Ibrahim.

The scandal burst after the Thane cops got a fresh tip about the betting rackets and the anti-extortion cell raided a building in Mumbai's Dombivali, which was the epicentre of IPL betting racket. The raid ended leading the cops to Arbaaz Khan. As per the report, Sonu told the Thane Police Crime Branch that Arbaaz was betting huge amount, and lost but wasn't paying the sum of Rs 3 Cr.

Who is Sonu Jalan:

According to a leading web portal, Sonu is a Mumbai born and raised in Mumbai itself. He has also completed his schooling from Mumbai's Shree Nutan Vidya Mandir in Malad.

Sonu Jalan's family:

Sonu Jalan has a sister who is a singer by profession. Like every other brother, Sonu is very protective of his sister.

 

Fixing International Matches:

Jalan, and his partner Prem Taneja, a bookie in Mumbai and his business partner JR. Calcutta, fixed a Test match in 2016 played between Sri Lanka and Australia. To fix this match, the three had gone to Sri Lanka and fixed the pitch curator Varanvira. In that match, 21 wickets fell on the same day. According to sources in Thane, Taneja had also met Sonu Jalan with one or two times Vindu Dara Singh. Vindu was held in 2013 in the IPL match-fixing case.

Fixing Pakistan Veteran’s Matches:

Sonu Jalan is very close to Dawood Ibrahim's D-Company. As per reports, Sonu was apparently in close touch with two of Dawood’s aides in Pakistan, one a superintendent and the other a doctor. In India, Pakistan, Dubai and Gulf countries, the entire collection of betting markets went to the two people known as Anees Ibrahim and Shakeel.

Sonu's King-size Lifestyle:

Sonu owns 3 luxurious flats in a multi-storey apartment in Mumbai. The monthly rent of one flat is Rs. 1,60,000. It also has many expensive luxury cars. Jalan has also invested in many benami properties (Unknown properties). According to a diary recovered from Thane police from Sonu’s house, one season of IPL (2018) Sonu’s betting collection amounts to about 500 crores.
