Anil Ambani's Reliance Entertainment made deal to produce film of Hollande partner, 2 days before rafale deal signed

The former French president Francois Hollande on Friday said that the Indian government had proposed Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence as the offset partner in the Rafale deal, and they were left with no choice. Well, during the deal between French and India were on, Hollande and Ambani’s got into a new deal.

According to report in IndianExpress, two days before when the then French President Francois Hollande came to India as Republic Day chief and MoM was signed with the PM Modi for delivering 36 Rafale aircraft, Hollande and Anil Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment made a new deal. The Reliance Entertainment will produce a film with Hollande’s partner and actor Julie Gayet.


Well, in 2016, Reliance Entertainment on January 24 declared that it will enter into an agreement with Gayet’s firm, Rouge International, to jointly produce a French film 'Tout La-Haut'. While on 26 January, both countries signed the MoU for the purchase of 36 jets in flyaway condition.

In 2017, Ambani’s Reliance Defence became a vital part of the effect deal of the 59,000 rupees-crore Rafale deal through Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd (DRAL). In DRAL, Reliance holds a 51% stake. Dassault Aviation, the French manufacturer of Rafale, holds a 49% stake in DRAL.
