Three people were killed and 30 injured when a bus collided with a lorry in the wee hours of 2 April near Andhra Pradesh's Madhavaram Podu village, police said. The road transport bus was carrying passengers from Tirupati to Railway Kodur when the mishap occurred, they said.
According to Railway Kodur Circle Inspector Rassol, bus conductor K Prabhakar (42) and passenger M Sudheer (30) were killed on the the spot while another passenger, K Subbarayudu (75), died in the hospital.
The injured passengers were shifted to government hospitals at Kodur and Tirupati, police said. The bus driver Narayana, who was stuck in the bus, was rescued by police and villagers.
