After the heart-wrenching incident in Punjab’s Amritsar during the Dussehra event, where at least 60 people have lost their lives in the train accident, no FIR has been lodged against the organisers who had planned to burn the effigy of Ravana near Joda Phatak.

As per the reports of NewsX.com, the Amritsar Government Railway Police (GRO) Station House Officer (SHO) Balvir Singh told that police have not registered any FIR against anyone. Also, there is no clarification from the side of Punjab government about the involvement of its leader.

However, the GRP has only registered the FIR against the anonymous person only while the two leaders of Congress councillor Vijay Madan and Sourabh Madan Mithu are still at large, said reports.

There are also the reports that some people have thrown stones at the house of Saurabh Madan Mithu, whose family organised the event.

Meanwhile, the GRP has filed a case under sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 304A (causing death by negligence) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.

Because of the political blame, the family of the local Congress councillor had sought the security arrangement at the venue.
