Man dies in police custody

At least two police personnel got injured after a scuffle broke out between police personnel and locals in the Hakima Gate area in Punjab's Amritsar on Sunday night.

The scuffle broke out after a man, Bittu Shah, arrested in possession of narcotics, allegedly died in police custody.

The family members of Bittu claimed that he died in the police custody and hence they have demanded strict action against the accused.

"We have started investigating the matter. A doctors board will be made which will do a post-mortem of the deceased. The culprit won't be spared," said Superintendent of Police J. S. Walia.
