Amethi man writes letter in ‘blood’ to Election Commission over Modi's remark against Rajiv Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week dragged late former PM Rajiv Gandhi for attacking Congress president Rahul Gandhi and termed him as ‘Bhrashtachari No. 1. Days after, PM Modi's jibe, a young man from Amethi has written a letter to the Election Commission in blood, seeking a directive to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his objectionable remark on Rajiv Gandhi that hurt the sentiments of the people.

The man identified as Manoj Kashyap of Shahgarh in Amethi, Rahul Gandhi’s home constituency, has written that he was 'traumatised' by the statements of the PM Narendra Modi against Rajiv Gandhi.


The man in the letter also pens that Gandhi lowered the voting age to 18 years, implemented the Panchayati Raj system. He said that former PM brought the computer revolution in the country.

"Former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also praised Rajiv Gandhi in an article," he pointed out in the letter. Kashyap, further writes that for the people of Amethi, anyone who insults Rajiv Gandhi is equal to those who assassinated him.

PM’s jibe immediately irked row and Congress move to poll body over the remark. However, on Tuesday, the Election Commission gave clean chit to PM Modi in Bhrashtachari No. 1 remark.
