Air India fight evades mishap after tyre bursts during landing

A major mishap was averted after an Air India flight - travelling from Nagpur to Mumbai with more than 150 people on board - suffered a tyre burst while landing at the Mumbai airport late on 15 March.
"During landing the plane tyre burst and we saw fire from the window. There was a lot of panic. There was lot of suffocation. But everybody came out safe. Major tragedy has been averted," said one of the passengers.
The incident took place when the flight touched the tarmac at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
All the passengers escaped unhurt as they were evacuated through the emergency chutes in the aircraft.
