After namaz row, now a makeshift pandal for 'katha' ceremony removed on public ground in Greater Noida’s Sector-37 on Wednesday by authority officials. The pandal was ejected as the organisers didn’t take permission for it, claims authority officials.

The action has been taken a days after Nodia Police released a circular to companies in the city that they would be responsible if their employees found offering namaz at a Noida Sector-58 public park.

Greater Noida officials have received a complaint regarding the ceremony from some residents of sector 37 on Wednesday.

After a complaint, officials removed the pandal when the function was going on.
Additional chief executive officer, Greater Noida Authority, Krishna Kumar said that they had received information that a few people had erected a pandal on the public ground and organised a ceremony without permission. Due to which they had taken the action. He added that ‘due action was taken as per procedure and people were informed that if they wish to organise a ceremony then they can do it after seeking permission from Greater Noida Authority.’

However, the authority can grant permission after a proposal is properly reviewed by police and city magistrate, Kumar told.
