21st National Youth Festival kickstarts today, to focus on digital economy

With the focus on promoting digital economy, the 21st National Youth Festival (NYF) is to begin from Thursday in Rohtak, Haryana.

The programme, held under collaboration of the Centre and state government on the theme ' Youth for Digital India' will conclude on 16 January.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the function via video conferencing.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will grace the event as the chief guest, while Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel will be the guest of honour.

Suvichar and Youth Convention of the festival will see participation by eminent scholars, authors and motivational speakers.

NYF will also put light on the government's policies and programmes, especially the ones initiated to promote digital economy.

Digital payment training would also be provided to educate the masses about online-based financial transactions.

A distinctive feature of the festival will be a number of selfie spots with attractive backdrop based on the flagship programmes of the Centre.

The NYF will be held in the sports stadium complex of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU).
