The families of two men suspected to be former Indian Mujahideen operatives wanted in India for various bomb blasts have identified them in the video released by the Islamic State last week, targeting India via Indian jihadists.

Sources in the National Investigation Agency and intelligence services said that Abu Rashid Ahmad and Mohammad 'Bada' Sajid were identified on the basis of interviews conducted with their families by the police in Uttar Pradesh.

The IS video also featured interviews with Thane engineering student Aman Tandel, and included images of his friends Shaheem Tanki and Fahad Sheikh, according to The Indian Express.

The Indian jihadists featured in the video swear revenge for crimes against Muslims in India.

According to the NIA and some state police forces, Abu Rashid Ahmad, a former resident of Azamgarh, is a suspect in several blasts carried out by IM between 2005 and 2008.

Mohammad Sajid is also from Azamgarh and is a suspect in the serial bombings in Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
