12 Ganesh idols, 12 32 GB pen drives, 1 nataraj idol stolen from Shashi Tharoor's residence

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on 6 December filed a burglary complaint at his residence. The incident occurred in the early hours of 29 November.

An FIR has been lodged by the Delhi police under IPC section 380/457 (burglary) at Tughlak Road police station.

Several valuable items including costly idols were stolen from his Delhi residence at Lodhi Estate in the well-guarded Lutyens' Zone. An antique of an Nataraja idol, 12 small Ganesha idols, 10 small Hanuman idols, 12 32 GB pen drives, an internet dongle and Gandhi glasses given to him by PM Modi for his involvement in the Swachh Bharat campaign were stolen.

According to Tharoor's complaint, the thieves scaled the wall of his official residence and entered his personal office after breaking down the front door.

Following the incident, personnel from the Tughlak Road police station and the special staff reached the spot.

The police are yet to identify the accused. A investigation is underway.
