On 28 May, the mega event organised by the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was kickstarted in the national capital with superstar Amitabh Bachchan speaking on the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme while actor R. Madhavan anchored the "Ek Nayi Subah" event. At the event, the veteran actor interacted with a group young girls who were part of the audience.

1. It is time that we realise that half the population of the country can't be left behind. Please don't think of women as the weaker gender. If we are talking about inner-strength, then they are far stronger than men.

The Prime Minister is expected to address the last segment of the five-hour long programme in the presence of his Cabinet ministers.
