Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez take home top honours at the 2016 American Music Awards

This year's AMA - the American Music Awards - was everything that people did not expect it to be. There was little or no controversy, Gigi Hadid impersonating Melania Trump is considered a highlight of the event, nobody was really dressed to impress, and the big winners of the night definitely left quite a few people shocked.

Justin Bieber's Love Yourself won over Adele's Hello, Ariana Grande took home Artist of the Year despite Beyonce's being on the list (yay for that!), ex-lovers and constant controversy queens - Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez won Favourite Artist Male and Female respectively.
